The concept of RhulaniNEXT continues

  • May 28, 2016 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Rhulani Safari Lodge is closed for our guests from 27 May to 14 June for renovation. The project RhulaniNEXT, which aims to keep our lodge on the best quality level for our guests, continues.

Rhulani will be closed until 14 June 2016

Renovation has started today.

"It is the first time in our 12-year history that we close the entire lodge for such a long period," says Rhulani's owner Rolf Steiner. "However, in view of the increasing occupancy and the aging infrastructure such closure is quite normal."

Due to the lower demand after busy summer time and the beginning of low season, this period of the year is ideal for renovation work. "In most cases we are able to carry out minor renovations unnoticed by our guests," says Rolf. “But this time works will take place in the main areas, so we have to close.”

"We have only two years ago started an extensive project to give Rhulani a new, fresh design, with our interior designer FlipSwitch, and we have the project given the title ‘RhulaniNEXT’", says Rolf. "The beauty of the results has motivated us to continue the concept of RhulaniNEXT, aiming to keep Rhulani on the best quality level for our guests on a permanent base.”

In this nearly three-week closing period, the following works will be tackled:

  • Complete renovation of the thatched roofs in the main buildings and partially in the staff quarters
  • Continuation of replacement of the outside decks in the Guest Rooms
  • Modernization of our kitchen and adaptation to current standards with regard to quality and hygiene
  • Replacement of the parquet floor of our inside lounge
  • New paint of the the walls in the guest chalets and in the common areas
  • Treatment of the stone slab floors and paths with new splendor
  • New electric wire fence against elephants
  • Improving safety in our children's corner

Rhulani’s guests can look forward to see the result of this key step in our renovation plan after the reopening on 15 June!
