We present Rhulani’s first promotional video

  • August 19, 2016 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Rhulani Safari Lodge presents for the first time an "official promotional video". It was created in collaboration with Supreme TV, a video production company founded in 2015 by Chad Killian, operating from Johannesburg.

Rhulani’s owner Rolf Steiner is very satisfied with the result of this exciting project: "As an owner one tends to show every little detail of your business, which is of course stupid. The audience wants focus and short messages”, he says. The main challenge for Supreme TV was to pack the main aspects and impressions of Rhulani in an attractive storyline of not more than two minutes. Rolf: “This goal is perfectly achieved, I am very happy”.

For a two minutes final result, Chad Killian traveled twice from Johannesburg to Madikwe, with a high-quality camera and also a drone in his luggage. "That was a great idea, because I find the sequences from the air, with the elephants at our waterhole, are very beautiful", says Rolf.

The project was very exciting for Chad, too: “We never had the opportunity to produce a commercial video in the game lodge industry.”

“Chad did an extremely good job in transmitting the special Rhulani feeling” – Rolf Steiner, Rhulani's owner

Chad's first trip was made when Rhulani was closed for renovation. So he had two full days to explore the Madikwe Reserve, together with Rhulani's ranger Alisdair, aiming to find beautiful subjects. The wild dog, which is the feature animal of the reserve, was a must and was finally found by Aluisdair with a bit of luck. A big troop of baboons on the road was quite funny. There was a postcard image of a herd of elephants at the waterhole, a yawning male lion, a bird on the tree in the morning sun, and much much more.

Chad's second trip was dedicated to the lodge interior, at a time when renovation works were completed and Rhulani was operating normally again. The shooting took place without being noticed by Rhulani’s guests, which means, mainly during game drives.

After reviewing and selecting countless material an intense post-production phase started. Now, the story was created. "I think, Chad did an extremely good job in transmitting the special Rhulani feeling, which is a mix between luxury, adventure and the connection with wild nature," says Rolf. "We are sure that this video helps us to be noticed even more, and our business partners will certainly use the video for their marketing."
