Offset your carbon emissions by planting trees
The carbon emissions produced by your air or motor travel to Rhulani can be offset by planting trees.
Climate change is an urgent issue that affects us all and will impact on the quality of life of our grandchildren and the environment they will live in. Also it will affect our beloved African bush.
Reducing your footprint is the first step to a lower carbon future. Small actions like turning off the lights when you don't need them contribute to lower your footprint (see more examples here).
But how about the portion of your footprint you can’t reduce? Fortunately there is a way. A variety of carbon offsetting schemes enable us to play a part in the climate change battle.
Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA) is the national greening, food gardening and climate change action social enterprise contributing to disadvantaged communities. Rhulani proudly holds a Small Business Membership to Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA).
You would like to offset your carbon footprint, here’s how:
Step 1: Calculate your carbon emissions
The carbon calculator will convert your emissions into number of new trees needed to offset those emissions. Calculate your air travel emissions and click on the "move to motor travel" button. Calculate your motor travel emissions and move to electricity. If you like, input your electricity annual usage and then your paper annual usage. Leave the fields blank for any section that you don't want to include or is unapplicable. Then, click on the "Continue to results" button. On that screen you will see the numbers of tree you need to plant, hit on "Pay"
