A week has passed since our amazing cheetah female called “Rhulani” has left its protective boma. We have recorded a few moments of the process. But more importantly, Rhulani has made her first kill!

Antelopes often form coalitions, and especially blue wildebeests and impalas join up quite frequently to spend time together. Today we meet them at a waterhole in beautiful light.

After 176 days in a protective Boma, the gate was opened for the female cheetah. Now she is free and will spend her life in the 75,000 hectares that is Madikwe Game Reserve. The exhilarating project moves into its next phase.

Another beautiful meeting of a big herd of elephants. In dry winter, they are enjoying themselves at Thlodam, and are drinking from the fresh water.

On today’s game drive we have a flat tire. Set in an idyllic wooded setting we observe how our experienced rangers are changing wheels.

For many months, a snow-white Barn Owl lived in the rafters of Rhulani’s dining Room. She brought our staff a lot of joy and headaches. A short story from the bush.
