Suddenly, the entire #Madikwe reserve seems to be strewn with small impalas, which are standing still somewhat uncertain on their long thin legs. Let’s look at an impala herd with many young animals.

We found two newborn, cute squirrels somewhere in the lodge, and they were left alone by their mother. Do you like them as well?

It was again a clear night and a new edition of the event three months ago. On the 10th of May 2017, interested guests of Madikwe Game Reserve joined the “Full Moon Drumming Circle” to raise awareness about the rhino poaching challenge and raise funds for our counter-poaching unit.

Elephants enjoy coming to the waterhole, either for having a drink, for a mud bath or for having some fun. This elephant here enjoys walking around in the mud, very cautiously.

Beautiful days accompanied us and our guests through the month of April, including a pleasant Easter period. For many guests it was holiday season, and thus the opportunity to take a trip to the African bush. The nights are now a little cooler, but no one is disturbed, because dinners at the boma fire under the African starry sky are still possible, and the sleep quality in the cooler room is just perfect. Here is our April update.

In the middle of the road, a dazzle of zebra blocks the way, but we get an excellent entertainment. Whether the two zebras are in a little battle or just playing? Maybe a mix of both ...

A special thanks to all of Rhulani’s Rangers: Sean, Alasdair and Riaan. Over the last months, I could see all of the Big Five (Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard) and also the Super Seven animals (which includes Cheetahs and the famous Wild Dogs of Madikwe). Of course, besides the Super 7, each of the great Game Drives also offered a lot of small, fascinating or rare wildlife species – like an Aardwolf or Chameleons.
