New Year’s Eve at Rhulani Safari Lodge in Madikwe was celebrated with a South African Braai (Barbecue) in the Boma Area. Guests could first enjoy the local dance group “Dikwena” performing for them around the fire and then choose from tasty grilled meats and salads.

Leading up to Christmas, the lodge was decorated with little Christmas Trees greeting you after your evening game drive, along with a shining star near the reception area and some window decorations.

With another Rhino notching event, we concluded our conservation activities for 2016 on 9 December, together with Rhulani’s guests. A small, white rhino was registered, equipped with microchips and notched at the ears, which made an important contribution to the safety of this endangered animal species.
