Carla and Riaan are both experienced professionals in the lodge industry and love the African bush above all else. After they moved to Madikwe Game Reserve exactly three years ago, they gained valuable experience at Rhulani. Carla was in charge of the office and administration at the Front of House, Riaan conducted the game drives for our guests as a field guide, and he is responsible for the lodge's maintenance work.

As it is our goal to to make continuous improvements, set high standards and foster excellent teamwork, continuity in management is very important to us. So we are very happy that we can continue on this path with Carla and Riaan, and we wish both of them much success.

Our Field Guide Sean Townsend, whom many of our guests know and love, will take the position of Assistant Manager. In addition, he will be our “Head Ranger”, which is a new position where he leads the field guide team that consists of five qualified rangers. We also want to wish Sean happiness and satisfaction in this new responsibility.

At this point we would also like to thank Gerda Kubirske, who made a great contribution during three and a half years as our lodge manager to shape our team and to continuously improve the quality of the lodge. We wish Gerda all the best for the future.
