Bologeka? That’s one of the impressive female lions which hangs around in our region. Alasdair tells us about amazing moments he was able to experience yesterday together with Rhulani’s guests, just in time for the use of his new photo camera. Bologeka delighted us with the presentation of two young little cubs.

"I bought my new camera at the right time," Alasdair tells us enthusiastically. "So I was able to take the very first pictures of these cute little lions, just amazing!" The photo shows Bologeka with the two cubs, which nestle very close to the mother.

Alasdair says: "The little ones must be around 2.5 to 3 months old now. They are so small! It was the first time that Bologeka showed them in the open. We are so excited about this because it is the first lion birth in our region for 4 years now.”

Even before that, Bologeka had entertained our guests for almost 2 hours. First we found her on a wildebeest kill. She was busy eating the animal while the young wildebeest stood by and did not want to detach from its mother.

After that we followed Bologeka through the bush in fantastic light. At a watering hole we took unique photos when the lioness was drinking.
