INDABA 2018: More than 90 meetings in 3 days

  • May 11, 2018 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

As every year in the month of May, we were present at the "INDABA", the largest and most important travel fair for the African continent in Durban. At our Rhulani stand, on nine square meters in the main hall (ICC), we talked to existing and new potential business partners about our product and all the new exciting things happening at Rhulani. It was a complete success.

Our butler, Mr. Jacques Bouwer, welcomes the guests at our stand

In contrast to some other exhibition stands, we had the feeling that ours was always busy. This had to do with a perfect preparation in order to make sure that we have as many quality meetings as possible and already scheduled in our agenda.

At our stand were present Rhulani's owner Marisa, coming from Switzerland, as well as our ranger Sean, who is very well known by many of our guests and business partners. The two conducted more than 90 meetings during three days. They ended the show extremely inspired, full of new ideas, but also a bit tired.

On the other hand, Rhulani Safari Lodge attracted a lot of interest, due to the beautiful, inviting design and the possibility of a private safari in malaria-free environment. This is the very positive feedback we collected. Many trade show visitors took the opportunity for a chat when passing by and picked up our glossy brochure.

A special eye-catcher this year was our "white-gloved butler", who greeted our guests at the stand and elegantly served a delicious Nespresso coffee with Swiss chocolate. Mr. Jacques Bouwer is a graduate from the South African Butler Academy (SABA) in Cape Town. Through his presence, we have been showing visitors our now-longstanding relationship with SABA, and our commitment to service quality on a five star level.

As a gift, the visitors took home our so-called "VR glasses". This makes it possible to do a three-dimensional tour of Rhulani with your own smartphone and experience the special "Rhulani feeling" virtually. Fortunately, this experience does not yet replace the unique experience of a visit to the the African bush.
