Rhulani at the SAT Roadshow in South America

  • September 03, 2018 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Thanks to its excellent relationship with South African Tourism (SAT), Rhulani Safari Lodge has been invited to this year's roadshow in South America, which took place in the three main cities of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile) and São Paulo (Brazil) from 24 to 29 August. Rhulani's owner Marisa Silva personally represented our lodge.

The South American market shows growing tourism numbers to South Africa and a great potential for us. We were particularly pleased when we received this invitation by Marcelo Marques, SAT's trade relations manager in Brazil. "We as owners have lived in Brazil for many years and built up an excellent network to promote Rhulani," says Marisa Silva. "It was a reunion, but also a unique opportunity to make further contacts in the huge Brazilian market."

Travel agencies and tour operators specializing in South Africa were invited. "There were between 50 to 100 participants in each city," says Marisa. The format of the event was very similar to "Speed Marketing Sessions". The 35 vendors, including Rhulani, had exactly five minutes time to describe their product and make it tasty for the participants.

"It was a bit short, but it forced us to focus on our key selling points," says Marisa. The participants were especially fascinated by the beauty and quality of Rhulani, which was expressed in the pictures and the short video. Further, the possibility of a private safari with off-road possibility in a malaria-free environment were the most valued factors.

Due to the shortness of the presentations, there was more time for networking, individual discussions with customers, as well as personal in-company workshops. "For us, a great success", summed up Marisa. "We love our guests from South America and will continue to promote Rhulani in this amazing continent."
