Rhulani Insights 014 - Getting ready for the game drive

  • September 07, 2014 | Rolf Steiner

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.

Game drives are really an awesome way to experience and enjoy the wild life. From the comfort of an open vehicle you can explore the wild, taking your time to absorb and appreciate the nature around you. The two daily game drives at Rhulani offer a unique wilderness experience, bringing you very close to the animals and providing you with the services of an experienced and knowledgeable guide.

Getting ready for the game drive

Game drives are overall exceptionally safe. Accidents are infrequent and Madikwe Game Reserve has an excellent safety record. It should be kept in mind, however, that there is always a certain degree of danger when you are in the bush with wild animals. At Rhulani, your safety has always first priority for us.

In today's episode we are ready to go for the afternoon drive on the vehicle and take part in the opening remarks of our ranger Chris and the safety instructions to our guests. Usually, common sense is already sufficient, but Chris says: "It is amazing how quickly our guests lose the fear of the wild animals, so it is very important to remind them of certain rules of behavior".

“Safety First" is "Safety Always.” – Charles M. Hayes, Businessman

Stay tuned for next episode on Sunday 21 September 2014, when we find our first animal on the game drive: an impressive elephant bull.
