Rhulani Insights 104 – The smoke detector in your room

  • December 09, 2018 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.

Rhulani is actually a very calm and safe place. But safety is still our top priority. In today's blog, Rolf shows us how you, as our guest, are warned about a fire in your chalet. He introduces the "smoke detector" to you.

A bushfire, a lightning strike, a short circuit in the kitchen, a spark in the fireplace, or just a carelessly stubbed out cigarette… the risk of a fire is small but high on the list, and we are taking measures to protect ourselves from it.

So we protect you when you are in your private chalet. The smoke detector Rolf is talking about today is a high quality model we have introduced a while ago. In the unlikely event of smoke in your room during the night, there is an alarm that wakes you up in case of smoke, and a message sent to Rhulani’s management so that we can immediately help to resolve the problem. Even more importantly, there is a second alarm for dangerous carbon monoxide emissions that would not wake you up when you sleep.

In any case you should be calm when visiting us and, above all, sleep deeply.

“If you look at life one way, there is always cause for alarm.” – Elizabeth Bowen, Irish Novelist
