Rhulani hosted a stand at the “Africa Academy” event held in Zurich and had the opportunity to promote our lodge to more than 200 Swiss travel agents.

South Africa is a booming country for the Swiss tourism industry. According to statistics, more than 60,000 travellers from Switzerland visited South Africa last year and is believed to have a further grow rate of approximately 20% for 2014.

Rhulani puts a special focus on the Swiss market not only because Rhulani’s owner Rolf Steiner is a Swiss citizen, but also because of the excellent market that opened for South Africa abroad. On 20 August, for the first time the Africa Academy event was organized in Zurich, Switzerland, where the African continent was presented by the leading tourism experts to travel agents. The event lasted a whole afternoon and included varies presentations about different countries and what they have to offer. A stunning entertainment program including dinner, show and lucky draws ensured that nobody left the event earlier than planned.

“This was an exciting opportunity for us to confirm our commitment to the Swiss market and understand the specific wishes from our Swiss guests” said Rolf after the event, where he hosted a stand together with his son Timo. “I realized that beside the presentation of Rhulani, many people are unaware of how a day in a safari lodge looks like and where Madikwe Game Reserve is located”, said Rolf. There was so many aspect that we could have targeted in this event, beginning from the fascination of a safari as a holiday option, the beauty of Madikwe and of course the uniqueness of Rhulani and its staff. For specialized agents this was excellent news to have an extra option at 5-star lodge away from the cliché Kruger area, into a totally malaria-free region with a different kind of beautiful.
