Rhulani's Ranger Ralf tells us about one of those magical moments that can be admired again and again in the African bush. A few days ago he drove out with our guests in the direction of Tau Dam because, according to information, he expected to find a pride of lions there. But then everything turned out differently.

“It was a lovely morning”, says Ralf. “"Our search for lions was suddenly interrupted when we discovered leopard tracks on the way, which we then followed."

According to Ralf, the tracks were from the well-known male leopoard, “Munye”, which we occasionally find in our region. But, despite an intensive search, the beautiful predator could not be found.

So, without a lion and without a leopard, our guests still had a wonderful view over the Tau Dam.

Completely surprisingly, the cheetah mother was there with the four cubs. These have become quite large in the meantime! We haven't seen them in a while.

"We were told that the cheetahs were in the far north, so we were completely surprised to find them here in the south," says Ralf. "I expected all sorts of animals at the dam, except the cheetahs."

In addition to his task of always driving our guests into the best position to watch the cheetahs, Ralf tried to take a few photos himself. "It was difficult, they were very mobile, up and down."

Still, we managed to get some great snapshots, and more importantly, an unbelievable experience.
