Local Village Tour
Experience Local Tswana Culture
Get a fascinating insight into local Tswana culture and life in a local village.
Following the morning safari and a hearty breakfast at Rhulani, you will be picked up by your guide and driven less than 20km to reach your destination: Supingstad or Lekgophung.
In the village you will meet one of the village elders at the Tribal Office and go on a tour to learn about community history and “kgotla”, which in Tswana culture is a gathering of the people to discuss important issues or to serve as a court of law.
Other highlights include a visit to a preschool and senior school, a local health clinic, and a community project or small enterprise. With a bit of luck you will get a glimpse of a local ceremony, such as a wedding, funeral or tombstone unveiling.
Our visit to the local village is part of our commitment to the principles of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, ensuring that cultural experiences are respectful, authentic, and beneficial to the local community.
