Would you like to drive all the way to the other side of the Madikwe Reserve and - once you have arrived in the east - get an insight of the technology, strategies and relentless efforts to combat poaching?

On the approximately one hour drive to the east side, you will see the changing nature and vegetation, and you will explore parts of the reserve that you don't get to see on the daily game drives.

The ranger will stop the drive should there be any interesting opportunities for wildlife viewing. Refreshing drinks and a packed lunch are also taken on the vehicle, which you can enjoy around noon.

A highlight of this day trip is the visit to the Anti-Poaching Operations Center, which is the place where your Guest Conservation Contribution goes in.

With an impressive presentation you will learn about the more and more sophisticated methods of poachers and the technologies with which the reserve is monitored 24 hours a day. You will get an insight into the problematic of rhino poaching and the successes of the anti-poaching initiatives achieved so far to win the battle.

You will be back at Rhulani by the time of our “Royal High Tea” and the afternoon safari.
