The Rhulani Art Collection

Art with a Story to Tell

At Rhulani Safari Lodge, art is more than decoration. Our collection celebrates the beauty of Africa, the creativity of its artists, and the extraordinary human stories behind their work. Each piece has been thoughtfully selected or commissioned to enrich the experience of our guests.

Sharon Boonzaier | The Colours of Africa

Specially commissioned for Rhulani's private chalets, Sharon Boonzaier's vibrant paintings capture the spirit of Africa through expressive colours, organic forms and rich textures. Inspired by nature and African traditions, her work brings the energy and beauty of the continent into each guest's private sanctuary.

Michael Cañadas | The Leopard

A striking centrepiece of Rhulani's main guest area, this life-size leopard sculpture was commissioned from South African artist Michael Cañadas. Crafted in bronze and stainless steel, it captures the power, elegance and mystery of one of Africa's most elusive predators. More than a sculpture, it is a tribute to the extraordinary wildlife that surrounds us.

Art from Angola | From Conflict to Creativity

Among Rhulani's most meaningful artworks are paintings created by former combatants from Angola, whose journey back into civilian life was supported through artistic initiatives. These works tell a story of resilience, reconciliation and second chances — a reminder that creativity can become a powerful instrument of personal transformation.

Beyond the Art

Together, these works reflect Rhulani's belief that true luxury goes beyond beautiful surroundings. It is found in authenticity, meaningful connections and the stories that stay with us long after our journey ends.
