Madikwe Game Reserve, which offers the Big Five and its own specialised Top 10, is one of South Africa’s largest and most exclusive reserves. Guests of the luxury lodges get the run of Madikwe’s 750km2 of open plains and classic bushveld, making this conservation success story a memorable experience – from animal sightings to sundowners.
Children under the age of six are not permitted on game drives, while no children under the age of 16 may be taken on bush walks.
Guests in the Luxury Private Chalets can easily communicate with us and retrieve up-to-date information using the “SuitePad”.

Visitors who go for the first time on a safari, or guests who travel for the first time the Madikwe, are often unsure about what to pack in the suitcase. Here is a small selection of suggestions.
Often we are asked the question: how many guests take a seat on the vehicle to go on safari? Traditionally, the open Game Drive Land Cruiser seats ten people. However, since the beginning of this year, our ambition is to limit the maximum number to seven guests and thus increase the comfort.
It is one of the most frequent questions before you go on holidays: What climate can I expect? Just as elsewhere, at Rhulani, situated in the midst of the Madikwe Game Reserve, the weather can not be predicted with exact precision, but we are trying to share a few insights.
Even in the middle of the African bush, access to internet has become a matter of course. This is also the case in Rhulani Safari Lodge. We offer free wifi in all guest rooms and main areas of the lodge. But how good is our internet?
Rhulani Safari Lodge is located in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve, where all kinds of wild animals roam freely, including the dangerous "Big 5". A frequent question from guests is whether Rhulani has a fence for security reasons, so that the animals do not come into the camp. The answer is: yes and no.
