Rhulani Insights 267 – Producing drinking water

Look behind the scenes at Rhulani Safari Lodge.

Following the construction of our own solar power system, the commissioning of a reverse osmosis (RO) water system in 2025, which will allow us to produce our own drinking water at Rhulani Safari Lodge, is the real highlight of our sustainability efforts. Let's take a sip of water today with Rhulani's manager, Tom-Hendrik.

Yes, it is indeed possible to produce high-quality drinking water from the groundwater we extract through boreholes using such a system. The filtration system is so precisely calibrated to the groundwater's properties that the quality of the produced drinking water is superior to that of the bottled water we previously purchased from the supermarket.

Today we're talking with Rhulani's manager, Tom, about this fantastic system, which will allow our guests to enjoy top-quality tap water in their rooms, even for showering, and which will also reduce our maintenance costs for sanitary facilities thanks to the reduction in limescale content in the water.
