"My husband and I used to live in Italy and this is where we discovered a special love for this country and its people", says Rhulani’s owner Marisa, who travelled to Europe for this special three-day-event.

“However, it was not only the love for Italy that attracted us to this event. Italy is also a growing tourist market for us,” says Rolf, owner of Rhulani. "2013 statistics show an increase of 7.1% in overseas tourist arrivals in South Africa and Italy with +10.6% has surpassed the global average." Last year 67.790 Italians travelled to South Africa and a hand full has already made a stop at Rhulani.

In this beautiful castle of “Castel Monastero”, Marisa presented Rhulani to a large number of Italian tour operators and agents. With a plenary presentation, a tematic stand, postcards, small gifts, as well as with brochures in Italian launched for the occasion, Marisa increased the general awareness of Rhulani.

“We are aware there is constant need to update the Italian agents concerning South African market and to place them in contact with the greatest variety of partners”, summarizes the ambition behind the workshop, Cristina Secco, Manager of South African Travel and Tourism in Milan.

A clear potential was noted by Marisa at this event as many African specialists do not have Madikwe in their portfolio yet. She completed the exhibition days with the impression that the key advantages are the absolute top quality that Rhulani poses, at an attractive price (due to a favourable exchange rate between the Rand and the Euro), as well as the fact that Madikwe is a malaria-free reserve, which attracts families and honeymooners.

“This event reminded me that for Italians the quality of food is an absolute priority, thus Rhulani is the right destination”, adds Marisa.
