A natural swimming pool in Madikwe Reserve: only for Rhulani's guests

  • April 01, 2021 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Exciting news from Rhulani Safari Lodge, just before the long Easter weekend. After long negotiations with North West Parks Board, we have successfully concluded a contract, according to which we can use a natural water pool in the middle of the Madikwe Reserve exclusively for Rhulani’s guests for a swim during the summer. Our guests are instructed to take their swimwear with them on the game drives. With a bit of luck you will enjoy a unique experience of swimming with the elephants.

New Natural Pool in Madikwe Game Reserve, explicitly reserved for Rhulani's guests

Our first guests, who were able to experience this unique novelty in the African bush, were thrilled. "This experience is like nothing else!" says John Pickering, returning guest at Rhulani Safari Lodge.

In summer we have high temperatures which invite you to take a bath, but it is also the period of the rainy season. This means that there are natural water holes in various parts of the reserve.

That means, as a guest, you have a bathing place in the middle of the bush, you enjoy the peace and quiet, the wild nature around you. You never know which wild animals will be passing by. Most of the animals will just come for a drink and you can watch them, but elephants sometimes go swimming. Maybe together with you?

This exclusive opportunity extends our fantastic safari offer for our guests. When booking with our front of house, please ask explicitly about the options for using the "Rhulani Natural Pool" during your stay. Use is free of charge.
