On a special game drive with Martin
As we know, every day something new happens in the African bush. Even our experienced sometimes get amazed. Today, on the morning safari, our youngest ranger Martin found a big Southern African Python. Listen to this story.
«So this morning I was following up on lion tracks with y guests. I was close to inkwe pan, not far from the lodge”. Martin Scholtz is Rhulani’s youngest ranger. He joined our team only two months ago.
“Driving slowly to see the tracks, one of my guests told me he saw a snake. When I looked I saw this beautiful Southern African Python. The snake was in a hurry so I jumped out of the vehicle and wrestled the snake until it gave up”, tells Martin.
There are many snakes in the bush, also in Madikwe. Only you almost never see them. And above all, such a big python is a true rarity.
“Then I picked her up and let the guests touch it and learn more about this magnificent specimen. The snake behaved very calm after she pooped to me…”
The guests enjoyed this unique moment. “When I released her she posed for some more photos and then slowly moved into the bush.”
