A brighter future ... still going strong

- News, Community & Conservation

One of the most rewarding aspects of community projects is seeing their long-term impact. This week, the Rhulani Safari Lodge team returned to Supingstad Primary School to carry out the generator's scheduled maintenance, and we were delighted to see just how much of a difference it continues to make.

The generator has now accumulated 1,150 operating hours, a clear indication that it is being used regularly to keep the school running during power interruptions. It continues to provide reliable electricity for classrooms, lighting, administrative work, and other essential daily activities, ensuring that learning can continue without unnecessary disruption.

During our visit, Rhulani's Assistant Manager, Willem, completed another important improvement by installing a sturdy protective fence around the generator. The enclosure provides an additional layer of security, helping to safeguard this valuable asset for many years to come.

Reflecting on the project, Willem commented: "The door to go in and out took me a bit longer than expected, but I'm definitely proud of the work completed."

The fence, together with the protective roof installed earlier this year, means the generator is now well protected against both the elements and unauthorised access.

Projects like these remind us that community support is about more than making a donation—it is about building lasting partnerships and ensuring that the support continues long after the initial project has been completed.

We extend our sincere thanks once again to everyone who contributed to making this initiative possible. Seeing the generator in daily use and knowing that it continues to benefit hundreds of learners is the greatest reward of all.

At Rhulani Safari Lodge, we remain committed to supporting the communities that surround us, creating sustainable solutions that make a meaningful difference—one project at a time.
