Rhulani Insights 243 – Wet roads

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.

We are currently in the rainy season and - fortunately - we had very good rain around the turn of the year. It can happen that the dirt roads have puddles and are difficult to drive on. Not so with our experienced ranger Dean.

The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain.

- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, American Poet

Do the safaris even take place after heavy rainfall, or are the muddy roads simply no longer passable? In today's blog we see that the daily game drives take place even in miserable weather, so you don't run the risk of not being able to see the animals because of the weather.

However, it can happen that some of the poorer roads are impassable and the ranger has to concentrate on the wider and better-developed roads.

Have a bit of fun in today's blog as we successfully pass a puddle of water like ice skaters.

Stay tuned for the next episode on 9 February when we find impala and springbok together.
