Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.
Anything can happen, and little surprises await you at any time, anywhere in the lodge, if you keep your eyes and ears open. Like today, when a leopard tortoise makes a tour of the lodge in the middle of the day. In today's blog, we watch this beautiful reptile and talk to Willem.
We called him Tortoise because he taught us.
It's perfectly normal for the wild animals to get used to us humans, overcome their fear, claim the lodge as their own territory, and live with us, sometimes for many years.
This leopard tortoise is no stranger to us either. Willem tells us some interesting facts, including that these reptiles are best left alone and, ideally, not even touched.
Stay tuned for the next episode on 15 June when Rolf shows you the invisible fence close to the watering hole.
