Rhulani Insights 255 - A leopard with an impala in the tree
Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.
During today's Rhulani Insights, we experience one of the most magical moments of a safari up close, as we, along with Alasdair, find a leopard in a tree. We remain very quiet and at a distance so as not to disturb the beautiful big cat.
Never wear anything that panics the cat.
As we can see from a distance, the leopard has caught prey. It has pulled the impala up into the tree, so that the leopard can enjoy its meal in peace and protected from other big cats.
Leopards are among the dangerous "Big 5" of the African bush, but they are nevertheless very wild and rather skittish, so we can consider ourselves lucky to be able to observe this animal so calmly from here.
