Rhulani Insights 275 – The little things on a bushwalk
Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.
Our bushwalk in the southern part of the reserve has recently begun. Let's see what we discover. As Ralf explains in today's blog, the main focus is on paying attention to the little secrets of the African savanna.
It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.
On bushwalks, we deliberately avoid tracking the large, dangerous animals. For the safety of our guests alone, we steer clear of them should we come across their tracks.
Nevertheless, it's theoretically possible that we might suddenly find ourselves face to face with one of the elusive Big Five, and our hearts might briefly skip a beat. But not now. As Ralf explains, we're looking for the smaller beauties, like butterflies, flowers, trees, or, as seen here, a small millipede, also known as a "shongololo."
Stay tuned for the next episode on 3 May, when a few giraffes will wander past us on our bushwalk.
