Our rangers really have a hard life. They get up early in the morning and they spend the whole day with the animals and our guests in the bush. Often they don't go to sleep until the guests have gone to bed. Today Ralf and Alasdair have no guests. So, no afternoon drive. Then what does a ranger do?

Rhulani Insights is a blog where we often look behind the scenes of a safari lodge. Alasdair and Ralf, the two buddies, have made themselves comfortable with a beer in their garden and are looking forward to a quiet evening.

There is a pot on the fire in which a typical South African dish is being prepared: a potjie. This looks delicious! Time for making some jokes and enjoyment of joie de vivre.
