Rhulani Insights 197 – Tadpoles in the pond

  • April 09, 2023 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safar iLodge.

At the entrance of Rhulani Safari Lodge. There is a small pond here and as Willem shows us today, there are new tadpoles, actually hundreds of them. So within a short time we will get young frogs, or better to say, as Willem knows, they will become toads. Let's have a look.

Currently, the tadpoles only have a small body and a tail. They have to stay in the water at all times. But soon they will get a head and legs, until in the end a real little toad emerges.

Not many of these little creatures will make it to the end of the development process. The birds love the tadpoles, as do the tilapia fish that are in the pond.

“Don't be a fish; be a frog. Swim in the water and jump when you hit ground.” – Kim Young-ha Quotes, South Korean Writer
