The batteries came through the roof

Simply impressive: The very last step in our lengthy construction project of an off-grid solar system was completed today. We received the last two batteries via a truck delivery. They were immediately maneuvered with a crane through the roof of the battery room to the designated location. A spectacular event that had to be well planned.

Now we have a total of four batteries

We had to wait a while for these last two batteries due to delivery bottlenecks. But now they are here! The battery capacity will now be doubled, which means that after a normal sunny day we will be powered by the batteries all night will be completely silent as the generator can rest.

A solar battery cannot simply be delivered in a box and then placed in the battery room. A single battery weighs 640kg! Rhulani's maintenance team had to dismantle the roof of the room beforehand, which meant that the heavy piece could be brought in from above with a crane.

Given the rainy season that is about to start, all of this had to be planned when the sun was shining so that the batteries did not get wet due to rain. As soon as it was installed, the roof had to be reinstalled straight away.

Now we just need a few technical adjustments, that is: rebalancing the four batteries so that they all discharge at the same time. And then we're done.

A crane was able to lift the 640 kgm battery
