Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.
Rhulani Safari Lodge isn't actually fenced in, so the animals often manage to get into the common area of the lodge, allowing us to observe them up close. Like in today's blog, where Rolf observes a warthog family that's almost become accustomed to the lodge from the lounge, as well as elephants at the waterhole.
I feel like I'm nothing without wildlife. They are the stars. I feel awkward without them.
The pictures today show Rhulani during the dry winter months, when the animals are even more likely to approach us. Some animals have become accustomed to the proximity and company of humans and feel at home and safe with us.
Other animals, like the elephants, smell the water we have at the lodge, in the pools, or at the waterhole, and they visit us daily for a drink.
Visit Rhulani, enjoy these moments as a guest at the lodge, and be part of nature there too. In the middle of it all, not just next door.
Stay tuned for the next episode on 18 May when we are watching an elephant mother with an almost newborn baby.
