Rhulani Insights 047 - Fixing a broken water pipe

  • May 29, 2016 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.

The pipes, which deliver the water from our central tanks to the guests chalets, into the kitchen, and to the common areas, are running under the ground. It may well happen that a pipe suffers a leak, and we have to act quickly to keep the water supply upright.

Rhulani has its own maintenance team that knows the pipe system perfectly, and has a lot of experience in replacing broken elements. We meet today Richard, a loyal employee in our maintenance team, who has just found the leak, right under a pathway. We suspect that a heavy elephant bull that shortly before has broken into the lodge, is responsible for the damage.

By the way, at Rhulani we have renewed all underground water pipes at the beginning of this year, so that we will reduce the incidence rate for suffering a damage.

“Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.” – Benjamin Franklin, Founding Father of the United States

Stay tuned for next episode on Sunday 12 June 2016 when we see how Cross cuts the firebreak around the lodge.
