Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.
As Rolf says, there's much more to see on a safari than just the animals. Especially during the rainy season, there are some amazing plants that begin to bloom. Today we drive past a meadow full of so-called "foxgloves." We stop there, and Willem explains a few details.
Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature.
As beautiful as this flower looks, it is also dangerous. All parts of the foxglove plant are toxic to animals and people. Even inhaling the pollen can cause an adverse reaction in some people.
But like so many things in the African bush, this plant also has a use: it can be used to make a pleasant soap and wash your hands. A wonderful plant, which we saw for the first time in many years in Madikwe Game Reserve at the time of our blog.
Stay tuned for the next episode on 4 May when we enjoy the wildlife from the lounge.
