Rhulani Safari Lodge increases the comfort for our guests on game drives. Our safaris will be conducted with three instead of two vehicles, which means that the open space and privacy for our guests are improved.

Due to the increasing popularity of Rhulani it is more and more often the case that we have "full camp". On these days, our open Toyota landcruisers are filled to the last seat.

"We are delighted to know that so many guests are choosing Rhulani, but we also realized that we need to increase the space for the guests on the vehicles, as we want to ensure a top safari experience with us in all aspects." says Rhulani's owner Rolf Steiner. "Rhulani stands for relax, tranquility and privacy in the bush, and a full vehicle is not ideal."

The solution of an additional third vehicle seems to be obvious. The offer of 20 seats can be increased to 30 so that there will be enough space for all guests, even in case of a full camp with 18 adults. The free seats can be used to deposit a bag or take a larger photo camera equipment on game drive.

But it was not so easy to implement this solution. Madikwe is very restrictive, because it is in the interest of everyone to ensure the peace and privacy in the reserve. “Getting an additional concession from the park administration was impossible, but finally we found a possibility via a trade exchange," says Rolf.

Then we needed a new vehicle, hire an additional ranger, and build new accommodation in our staff area, which was a challenge both logistically and cost-effectively. "But now all hurdles have been overcome," says Rolf.  “We are delighted that we have been able to do all of these improvements without increasing the prices for our guests.”
