Rhulani Insights 223 - Solar Panels

  • April 21, 2024 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.

Once again a blog about our solar system. Today we'll talk about a few technical details of the solar panels that intercept sunlight and generate electricity for Rhulani Safari Lodge. The panels have very special properties, as expert Kyle from Blockpower explains to us

These are so called “Monocrystalline Solar Panels”. They absorb sunlight to a very high degree. They are black, and they are primarily designed to produce a lot of energy in sunlight and colder temperatures. This is particularly advantageous in winter when it is always sunny and the energy demand is higher.

The panels are also very easy to maintain and have self-cleaning properties, as Kyle tells us.

“The way forward is to collaborate with nature - it's the only way we are going to get to the other end of the 21st century.” – Bjork, Musician
