Today we are waiting at the so-called "Wester Airstrip", where our guests traveling by plane arrive and depart. Rolf and Alasdair stand by and watch as the small Federal Airlines plane lands on the dirt runway.

Not only is it great to see such a small aircraft landing in the bush, but it is also an important job for the ranger to observe and ensure that the runway is clear and that a herd of animals does not walk onto the runway during the approach to landing.
