Rhulani Insights Special – Discussing the female cheetah project

  • December 10, 2017 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.

Today we are at the "Lion Boma" in the very north of the reserve. Here we find the three female cheetahs who are getting used to the new environment. After many failed attempts, the hope of the reserve to finally build up a cheetah population rests on these three beautiful cats.

Together with Rhulani's Ranger Sean we observe the cheetahs for the first time up close. Sean tells us how the adaptation phase has gone so far, and he gives us an insight into the possible dangers to the animals as soon as they are released.

“Today, cheetahs are found in only 23% of their historic African range.” – Cheetah Conservation Fund

Rhulani is the sponsor of a female cheetah, so we will follow this exciting project closely.

Stay tuned for next episode on Sunday 24 December 2017 when the Rhulani Team sends a Christmas greeting.
