Rhulani Insights 057 - It's raining

  • November 27, 2016 | Rhulani safari Lodge

Look behind the scenes of ‪Rhulani Safari Lodge.

A safari is usually associated with tropical heat and sunshine. For nature, however, rainy days and access to water for the wild animals are extremely important. Today's blog takes place on one of the sparse rainy days in Madikwe.

Those who opt for a safari in Madikwe do not have to worry about the weather. The region here is very dry, the sunshine is almost guaranteed. You are in "sunny South Africa". This is confirmed by the rainfall statistics in the climatic tables (see here).

But here, too, there is sometimes a rainy day, and only in summer. Fortunately, we must say. Fortunately for the plants, and for the wild animals. When you visit us, you will quickly realize how precious the water is to us all.

“I was in love with the whole world and all that lived in its rainy arms.” – Jane Bryant Quinn, Journalist

Stay tuned for next episode on Sunday 11 December 2016 when we Rolf shows us a comfortable "Wendy House" in the backyards.
