In our “daily rate” we always mention the tariff inclusions and exclusions. However, our guests often ask us for more details in order not to experience bad surprises and to better plan the financial aspects of a visit. Here is a detailed overview:

Rate inclusions (applicable for all bookings)

• Accommodation in a freestanding, luxurious chalet; the room type is according to your booking
• Two daily game drives which take place in the early morning with the sunrise and in the afternoon with the sunset. The exact departure times change according to the season: in summer at 5:00h resp. 16:30h, and in winter at 6:30h resp 15:30h. Inform yourself about the departure time during your visit. The safaris are guided by a qualified ranger and performed in an open vehicle. A game drive takes 3 to 3.5 hours each. The maximum number of guests per vehicle is 10. Your first game drive is in the afternoon on the day of your arrival, and your last game drive the early morning of the day of your check-out.
• All meals on a Full Board base: early morning coffee before the morning game drive, coffee / tea stop during the game drive, rich breakfast (cold and warm) after returning from game drive, high tea before the afternoon drive, complementary sundowners in the bush, 3-course dinner. If you would like to have an additional lunch (for example on the day of your arrival), please let us know, we will be happy to prepare something for you
• Free wifi in the whole lodge: We have a fiber based network with microwave transmission, uncapped and with 10mbps download speed. There is a signal in all the public areas of the lodge which you can use, and you have your own router in your private chalet
• Coffee / Tea from your coffee / tea station in your room
• Daily complimentary activity: In order to make your stay at the lodge as comfortable and varied as possible, we will surprise you with some additional activities: boma dinner, hair pairing, foot massage, food & wine pairing and much more. Let yourself be surprised…
• Airstrip pick up & drop off: If you are arriving (departing) by plane at (from) the Madikwe Western Airstrip, we will pick you up (drop you off) at at no extra cost.

Rate exclusions (unless explicitly mentioned as included in your quote)

• Madikwe Game Reserve Gate Entry Fee - applicable per person per stay (incl. VAT, subject to change without prior notice): All Visitors ZAR 180, Children (under 12) ZAR 80; Fly In Fees: All Visitors ZAR 240, Children (under 12) ZAR 150
• Madikwe Conservation Levy - applicable per person per night (incl. VAT, subject to change without prior notice): By-road Fees: ZAR 180, Children < 12 years ZAR 80; Fly In Fees: Adults ZAR 240, Children under 12 ZAR 150 - Fee is applicable per stay, VAT inclusive, subject to change without prior notice.  Read more about this new levy here
• All beverages and consumption from your minibar except water on game drives and complimentary sundowners as mentioned in inclusions
• Massages / Treatments: When you are interested in a massage or treatment at Rhulani, there is no advance booking required. Our spa therapist will treat you in your private chalet or on your private deck. Take a look at our current massage offer here
• Bushwalks: approx. 2 hours walk through the bush with a qualified guide. This service is not available all times and not guaranteed, please ask us in advance
• Conservation activities: If you are interested in supporting the reserve in nature conservation activities and participate actively in a private event, please contact us before traveling.
• Baby-sitting can be organized on the spot. The baby-sitter can be organized either for a whole game drive, or during the day "per hour"
• Laundry Service: We clean your clothes and return them the next day
• Use of our conference room: If you would like to book our conference room (for a maximum of 25 persons) for a private event or workshop, please contact us
• Curios: Buy a small memorial gift in our Curio Shop
• Transfer from / to Rhulani: please let us know in case you need a transfer from Johannesburg or Gaborone to Rhulani. We are glad to give you some options and include the cost in the offer for you
• Day excursions: A visit to Gaborone, Capital of Botswana, which is 40km away, can be arranged. Please ask us beforehand
• Special occasions: If you are celebrating a special event, a wedding, a workshop, etc., please give us more details and we will be glad to present you a quote
