African Landscapes, Sunsets, Moonlight and Stars
I love to explore the area of Rhulani Safari Lodge in Madikwe during sunset and early evening. After reading a book on my terrace with amazing views of the bushveld in Madikwe Game Reserve I am heading out in search for the perfect sunset shot.
The nights are warm with a slight breeze. It is so calm and tranquil that just experiencing the evening atmosphere at Rhulani Safari Lodge is very soothing for your soul and brings you a deep sense of relaxation and peace. I am listening to the sounds of the different birds, maybe I can even see a Natal Franklin running around near the lodge – or I spot a Lilac-Breasted Roller on a tree.
The clouds are drifting by, slowing turning red due to the setting sun. This, together with the unusual looking trees - some of them were broken by Elephants - offers the perfect scenery for a unique sunset photo.
Time flies and a crescent moon slowly appears in the sky – right next to a Weaver Bird’s nest in a tree - another amazing sight.
I can’t enough of staring at the big and bright African stars in the night sky – searching for the Southern Cross.
Then I slowly make my way back, feeling in perfect balance, ready for a good night’s sleep – or I am creating the next day’s yoga class sequence for Rhulani Safari Lodge’s guests.
