Rhulani Insights 024 - Family safari at Rhulani

  • March 22, 2015 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge and feel the bush.

With all the fascination around the silence of the bush, the romance of an Afriucan sunset and a boma dinner under the African sky, one must not forget that the search for animals and the proximity to wildlife is an unforgettable holiday experience for children and families as well.

All children and families are welcome at Rhulani Safari Lodge. We are perfectly equipped and prepared to offer an exciting and informative family safari. Our youngest visitors are in good hands with our babysitter and are entertained in our kiddie's corner with lots of toys and DVD's, while the adults go on their daily game drives. Our ranger organize a so-called "Bumble Drive" for those children (under the age of 6), which are not admitted for the scheduled drives. Our experience tells us that for the kids, watching animals at our waterhole from the terrace, or discovering of many small lodge residents, is very entertaining and just as exciting for them as watching a lion from the vehicle.

“The most interesting information comes from children, for they tell all they know and then stop.” – Mark Twain, Author

For slightly older children, we have a special, complimentary backpack, with lots of information, playing cards and a coloring book, so that they are well prepared when departing for the game drive to ask our ranger tricky questions, and so to learn more about the wildlife. Thus, a 3-hour game drive passes by very quickly for the whole family.

In today's episode we meet three young guests from Holland, during a lunch break with pizza in the bush, and find out what they like most in Rhulani and in the bush.

Stay tuned for next episode on Sunday 5 April 2015, where we find a snake in Rhulani's lounge area.
