Rhulani Insights 026 - A flat tire in the bush

  • May 03, 2015 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge and feel the bush.

Silence, wild nature, sleeping lions, wandering herds of elephant, african sunset with a romantic sundowner; these are the typical elements of a game drive. But not only that. Even a flat tire contributes to an interesting safari experience.

The spiky spines of the thick thorn bush, typical and very frequent for the savannah in Madikwe, are a constant challenge for our Landcruisers. And even more, as it is allowed to go off-road and follow the path of an animal. We always carry a spare wheel with us, and Rhulani's rangers are trained to change the wheel in the bush almost as fast as at the pit stop of a formula 1 race. For our guests, such an intermezzo is a special experience. In today's episode we have a flat and watch how the wheel gets changed in the bush.

“A bad attitude is like a flat tire. If you don't change it, you'll never go anywhere.” – Bilal Zahoor, a simple guy with simple thoughts

Stay tuned for next episode on Sunday 17 May 2015, where we enjoy a wonderful bush breakfast
