Rhulani Insights 055 - Two spotted hyenas

Look behind the scenes of ‪Rhulani Safari Lodge.

On our game drive, we are lucky to discover two completely relaxed hyenas. We have time to talk with our ranger Sean about the general situation of hyenas in Madikwe, and to observe this fascinating animal in peace.

In Madikwe there are two different types: the “brown hyena”, and as in our today's blog, the “spotted hyena”. Both types are quite difficult to find, and a sighting as in our blog is one of the absolute safari highlights.
