Rhulani Insights 088 – How we collect our rainwater

  • April 29, 2018 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

Look behind the scenes of Rhulani Safari Lodge.

What can you do if you live in a dry region, have very little rainfall, and you are not connected to a large water dam via a pipeline? Rolf shows us today one solution we have recently implemented.

The question of water optimization, both in terms of collection and consumption, we face every day at Rhulani Safari Lodge. Water is a precious resource, so we have a  "water management strategy" in place aiming to create an ideal balance between cost minimization, awareness and maximum comfort for our guests.

We are now at the end of the rainy season, which fortunately turned out very well for us and for nature. In order to optimize water situation in our staff area, behind the scenes, we recently installed a system so that the rainwater on the roofs is collected and directed into special tanks.

“If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.” – Loren Eiseley, anthropologist
