If you don’t want to do a fly-in you can also choose a self-drive option to Rhulani Safari Lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve. Your entrance will be the Wonderboom Gate, which can be reached via the R49 towards Gaborone (Botswana). The moment you are driving through the gate you are entering Big Five country – so be prepared for a mini safari on the way to the lodge.

Meet Elephants or Zebras along the Road – Drive slowly!

Please drive slowly and carefully and always watch out for animals on the road – wildlife always has right of way. If you meet any animals along the way, please just stop the car, turn off the engine, wait a little until the Elephant or Zebra has crossed the road - and just enjoy. Then continue towards Rhulani Safari Lodge.

Please let Rhulani Lodge know what your Estimated Time of Arrival will be so that everything can be set up for you. Check-in at the lodge is from 2pm. 

Afternoon Game Drive leaves around 4pm (summer) and 3pm (winter)

Your afternoon game drive starts around 4pm in summer and 3pm in winter (also depending on the weather).

Warm Welcome at Rhulani Safari Lodge

When you arrive at Rhulani you will be greeted with a Welcome Drink and some refreshment Towels. You can relax a little in your Chalet and then join us for our High Tea at the Reception Area – before your evening game drive in Madikwe begins.
