#RhulaniNEXT 2017: Focus on textiles and fabrics

  • August 31, 2017 | Rhulani Safari Lodge

The concept, with which we constantly adapt Rhulani's look to the newest state, is called #RhulaniNext. In the past few weeks, the focus has been on fabrics and textiles in the main area and the guest chalets.

Rhulani means "relax"

The concept #RhulaniNext has accompanied us for some time and is in collaboration with our interior designer Flipswitch. The question is quite complex, as it is not just about how to get a nearly 15-year-old bush lodge to the most modern state. Rather, it is about feeling the special atmosphere of Rhulani, taking into consideration the harmony with the surrounding nature and the colors of the earth, and of turning into reality our ambition to be an oasis of calm in the middle of the African bush. Rhulani means "relax".

New splashes of colors without changing ther color palette

After important reforms in recent years, the focus was on the replacement of many fabrics and textiles. Included were pillow cases, bath towels at the swimming pool, bed mats in the private chalets, upholstered ottomans, change of bed linen and much more. There was always the question of how to incorporate some new splashes of color, which the guest perceives as refreshing, but without changing our color palette or the quiet appearance of Rhulani.

Snow-white mosquito net curtains

The biggest items were completely new mosquito curtains, which decorate the guest beds, and which we have now selected in a snow-white color. And then we renewed the night curtains, which have sewn-in day and night blinds, so that our guests can darken the room during the day.

We are very satisfied with the result and the work of Flipswitch. We hope that our guests will enjoy the recent reforms!
