We couldn’t believe our eyes. In the middle of an Impala herd, we discovered an animal with somewhat strangely shaped and unusually long horns. It soon became clear that it was not a male. It was a female with a genetic defect.

We recently met a pride of lions at Inkwe Pan. Among them was the most beautiful, biggest, most impressive and also by far the oldest lioness in the entire reserve. We call her “Mika”. It was a sighting of rare beauty.

We have done some renovation work in the past few days, so we temporarily cut off the electrical wire around the lodge. A young elephant bull used this opportunity for a short visit to Rhulani.

Did you know that there are many white rhinos to be discovered in Madikwe Game Reserve and that they take the grass from the ground with their broad lips, like a vacuum cleaner?
