The winter is slowly coming to an end, the temperatures at night are pleasantly cool, and during the day our guests enjoy “sunny South Africa” with spectacular experiences in the African bush. We look back on the animal statistics of the month of July.

June is traditionally our quietest month measured by the total number of guests visiting us. But we were much more busy than in previous years, which confirms the general rising popularity of Madikwe Game Reserve. The quality of animal observations remains excellent for all our guests. Here is the summary in our monthly update.

It gets early dark in the winter time in Madikwe, and so we get to see many nocturnal animals on our game drives, after a beautiful sunset. Here is our monthly report from the bush, with statistics for May 2017.

Beautiful days accompanied us and our guests through the month of April, including a pleasant Easter period. For many guests it was holiday season, and thus the opportunity to take a trip to the African bush. The nights are now a little cooler, but no one is disturbed, because dinners at the boma fire under the African starry sky are still possible, and the sleep quality in the cooler room is just perfect. Here is our April update.

Here is what we just saw outside the office. This spotted bush snake just caught a frog. Well spotted and excellently commented by our ranger Alasdair, “Captain Red Beard”.

March was for us a sort of “transitional-month” between the end of the summer season, and the upcoming April with a holiday period in South Africa and Easter. Our guests enjoyed a bit more quiet days, in perfect climate, wonderful surroundings and as always with unforgettable animal observations. Welcome to our monthly update from the bush.

Slowly slowly the summer months are coming to an end. The balance of this period is as follows: Constantly very good animal observations, many happy guests, and quantities of rain which were just incredible for Madikwe. Here is our monthly update for February.
