In today’s blog we get a glimpse of a recurring renovation work. All our buildings have a thatched roof, from which we hope that it stays tight in the rainy season. From time to time, the dry grass is no longer absorbent and must be completely replaced.

June was an exceptional month in our safari operation. In the second half of the month, we had some amazing sightings, and in the first half Rhulani, was closed for major renovations.

It was not the most spectacular sighting of the four cheetah brothers of Madikwe, but it was our last one. Shortly after, this amazing coalition, which was not feared at all, had to leave the place, in exchange of two new male coalitions.

Today we examine a termite mound, which was built up in the past few months, right in front of our terrace, that is between the lodge and the waterhole.

At Rhulani’s watering hole, at a hidden spot, a photo camera is placed, which captures images automatically when something moves in front of the lens. So we have made in recent months and years many beautiful, bizarre and surprising photos of animals, which passed by the lodge looking for water ...

It is always fascinating to watch a giraffe eating. Carefully it picks the most delicious leaves from the highest tree branches, and captures them with the long tongue.

After getting married in the bush, Sara and Francisco look back on their special day with unique memories: “The wedding exceeded all our expectations, and Rhulani’s staff were just amazing!”

As every year in the month of June, a new evaluation of our star grading was taking place. Rhulani Safari Lodge is proud to announce that we continue our business clearly at 5-star level. We received even a higher score than last year.

We observe four white rhinos on the way to the dam, which is a very special sighting. Having a closer look, we see that this is about two separate groups of rhinos, and that they first have to make friends before they finally enjoy the drinking stop together.
