With great hope the cheetah female “Iketle” was released in Madikwe Game Reserve last Friday. Rhulani Safari Lodge, a main sponsor of the project, was there.

We dedicate today’s blog due to current events to the “Cheetah Project” in Madikwe. Today, our wonderful, small, skinny cheetah female named “Iketle” gets released into the reserve. Watch this uncut version of an amazing release.

From 7 to 9 May Rhulani Safari Lodge participated at the 2016 INDABA in Durban. It was an excellent opportunity to present our beautiful product and promote a fantastic safari in the African bush.

In Madikwe one may even go on a game drive at night, and so today we find a male lion who slowly awakens from his days sleeping, and is getting active. With our spotlight we observe him how he is dressing up.

If you watch a giraffe from behind while eating, this gives a peculiar view in which the neck of the giraffe seems strangely curved.

The month of April is over. For Rhulani, this means the end of the high season. But not for the bush! Madikwe with its wonderful wildlife has actually high season all the time, which is confirmed by the high quality of wildlife observations. A review of the figures from April.

Water is a precious resource. That sounds like a hackneyed phrase. But for Rhulani this phrase has an enormous relevance. Today Rolf gives an insight into the way how Rhulani obtains the water in order to keep up the daily operation of a 5-star lodge.

It’s wonderful to see when after some rain, the black and white Zebras enjoy grazing in a lush green landscape. The zebras are now all well fed and look completely healthy. A colorful sighting.

The next step in the cheetah project is concluded. A young female has successfully arrived at Madikwe and is now getting habituated to the new environment in a protective boma. At Rhulani Safari Lodge, sponsor of the “cheetah female project”, we are very excited about this news!
